Stop the Hunger - Plan International Australia and Visual Jazz Isobar
In a project we are particularly proud of, Visual Jazz Isobar recently joined forces with Plan International Australia to bring to life their latest charity campaign online. Plan International Australia is a not-for-profit organisation devoted to improving the lives of children on a global scale, and their recent Stop the hunger campaign focuses on the plight of over 1.5 million children under five years old living in West Africa without food. There is desperate need for support from the international community to save hundreds of thousands of lives across the region.
Celebrity chef Manu Fiedel features at the centre of the campaign, and spent two weeks in Niger with former Visual Jazz Isobar creative guru, Chris Phillips and current New Idea’s Editor, Kim Wilson learning firsthand about the urgent crisis and what Australian’s could do to help. Better known for his cameos on Masterchef, the appearance of a television chef such as Manu gives extra resonance to a critical situation in Africa where 18 million people don’t have enough to eat. While in Niger, Manu visited emergency food distributions, school feeding programs and health centres set up for the treatment of malnourished children.
In a rapid turnaround time, Visual Jazz Isobar worked alongside Plan and Phillips to build, test and launch a campaign site, all in just under a week. The site is designed around the videos of Manu’s amazing journey through Niger, all documented and delivered as a series of episodes. Visitors can learn more about the campaign through video, images, maps and text, and can sign up to be notified of when new content will be published.
The fast turn-around for launch needed to coincide with ongoing media coverage and exposure that had been planned for the campaign, all encouraging the public to educate themselves on the issue and to donate.
Australians can learn more about Manu’s work and the Stop the Hunger campaign by visiting http://stopthehunger.plan.org.au/. Here you can support children and their families affected by the West Africa food crisis by making a one-off donation to the Stop The Hunger appeal.
A huge shout out to all Visual Jazz Isobar team members who were involved in bringing this valuable project to life.
